The Best of June Carter Cash
We lost an American treasure on May 15, 2003 with the passing of June Carter Cash. RING OF FIRE: THE BEST OF JUNE CARTER CASH pays tribute not only to June's legacy on country music but also to the unshakable spirit and faith with which she lived her life. This collection includes unreleased material and selections from 1999's GRAMMY Award winning Press On, 2003's the multi-GRAMMY Award winning Wildwood Flower, as well as a few of June's most recognizable recordings from throughout her career. "Jackson," her most famous duet with husband Johnny Cash and "If I We're A Carpenter," both went all the way to #2 as Country singles in 1967 and 1970 respectively. However, June was not without hits towards the end of her career, at the 2003 GRAMMY Awards she was recognized for BEST FEMALE COUNTRY PERFORMANCE for "Keep on the Sunnyside" and her rendition of the Carter Family classic "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" remains a highlight of the Press On album. This collection represents the full circle of June's career and remind us why she has earned her place among country music royalty both in music and in life.
